Advanced Training in Economic Analysis and Management - Morocco in the Global Economy

OCP Policy Center, Rabat;

The course begins with an overview of how the global economy is changing, notably the salient trends of globalization and the rising importance of developing countries. Against this background, it examines Morocco s performance. It then reviews the evolution of each global integration channel in some detail: : trade, capital flows, migration. The course then examines the downside of globalization, including income inequality, climate change, and financial instability. The course is fact based and empirical; at each stage, policy Implications or challenges will be highlighted.

Objectives :

Understanding :
• Global economic trends, including growth if developing countries, trade, investments and migration;
• The economic evolution of Morocco in this context;
• The economic policy challenges associated with globalization.

About the Speaker :
  • Uri Dadush

    Uri Dadush is a senior associate at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. He focuses on trends in the global economy and is currently also tracking developments in the eurozone crisis. Before joining Carnegie, Dadush’s experience was split evenly between the public and private sector, where he led a number of business-turnaround situations.
