Building Effective Tax Policies at the 3rd Public Conference of the EU-AFD Research Facility on Inequalities : Inequality and Redistribution in low and middle income countries

The Policy Center for the New South will be represented by our Senior Fellow Larabi Jaidi at the 3rd Public Conference of the EU-AFD Research Facility on Inequalities, held under the theme: Inequality and Redistribution in low and middle income countries.

Redistributive policies represent powerful policy instruments for improving equality of outcome through the redistribution of income and for enhancing equality of opportunity by improving the distribution of income-generating assets, such as human capital and wealth. Organized by AFD at its headquarters in Paris, the conference will address the topic of Inequality and Redistribution in low and middle income countries.

Larabi Jaidi will speak along Ingrid Woolard (Stellenbosch University) and Grégoire Rota (CERDI) in the panel « Building effective tax policies » which aims to discuss measures that can be taken in order to structure a progressive tax system and the different factors that contribute to making tax systems more or less effective for revenue collection.

The conference will take place in Paris at AFD headquarters, Paris.
