The Changing Global Order and Africa’s Place in it
“At the table or on the menu ? Africa’s role in a changing global order.”
Africa is a diverse, dynamic and growing continent, making noticeable progress in many areas including democratic rule, economic growth and conflict resolution, but simultaneously facing formidable challenges to its development and sustainability.
Mohammed Loulichki is the main speaker of Session 2 on “The changing global order and Africa’s place in it." This session is taking place in the context of a think tank workshop, “At the table or on the menu ? Africa’s role in a changing global order.”
The workshop will discuss Africa's role in the new balance of the post-Cold War multilateral system and provide a platform for African Think Tank representatives to discuss where the continent sees itself in this context. What does Africa think of the fragmenting global system? Is multipolarity likely to bring more gains to African states politically, economically and developmentally?

Mohammed Loulichki
Ambassador Loulichki is a Senior Fellow at OCP Policy Center who focuses on Diplomacy, conflicts resolution and Human rights. He has an extensive experience of 40 years in diplomacy and legal affairs. He assumed inter alia the functions of Head of the Department of Legal Affairs and Treaties in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He was also Ambassador of Morocco in Hungary, Bosnia – Herzegovina and Croatia (1995-1999), Ambassador Coordinator of the Government of Morocco with MINURSO (1999 – 2001), Ambassador of Morocco to the United Nations in Geneva (2006-2008) and New York (2001-2003 and 2008-2014), as well as President of the Security Council (December 2014).
