Conference on Global Labor Markets
The International Monetary Fund, Brunel University and OCP Policy Center are co-organizing a High Level Conference on Global Labor Markets, which will take place on September 1st and 2nd, 2016 in Paris, France.
The conference comes against a backdrop recovery in many advanced economies and sluggish growth in many developing economies (both emerging markets and low-income countries). The unemployment rate in developing economies is expected to increase over the course of this year, while the rate for advanced economies will probably decline.
In view of these development and other underlying trends in the world of work, prominent experts from international organizations, research institutes and academia, as well as selected professionals in policy and business will share perspectives on jobs trends and strategies, the link between jobs and growth, employability and inclusion, effectiveness of structural reforms, particularly labor market policies, to name a few. The conference will also yield papers in the discussed subjects to benefit both participants as well as interested external stakeholders.
