Futures of EU-Africa Relations: Lessons from Scenario-Building
Amal El OUASSIF, Research Assistant at Policy Center for the New South, will be speaking at Workshop on exploring the futures of the governance of EU-AU relations, with a focus on the thematic of Migration, during “The Futures of EU-Africa Relations: Lessons from Scenario-Building".
The workshop is designed to produce collective intelligence about plausible trajectories for EU-AU relationships. It engages respected academics, policymakers and political observers in using the future to sense and make sense of the present from different perspectives regarding the governance of EU-AU relationships. The purpose is to explore novelty in the future of the governance of EU-AU relationships and reflect on what novelty means for decision-makers.

Amal El Ouassif
Amal El Ouassif is a research assistant in International Relations and Geopolitics at the Policy Center for the New South in Rabat, Morocco. Prior to this, she worked as a programme coordinator at the Westminster Foundation for Democracy and served as a consultant in development policies with the office of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in Morocco. She is also a former bluebook trainee in the Directorate General of Employment Social Affairs and Inclusion in the European Commission in Brussels.
Amal has a Master of Art in EU’s International Relations and Diplomacy Studies, from the College of Europe in Bruges and a Master in Development Studies from UPMF-Grenoble. Her area of interest include Africa- Europe cooperation, security and migration.
